Breast Cancer the words that most women dread to hear form their doctor. Breast cancer is a lump that forms in the breast area and sometimes can be a lump in the arm pit. As I do more research on breast cancer, I see that the lump in a malignant tumor that starts off in the cells of the breast. A malignant tumor is a group of cancer cells that can grow into surrounding tissues or spread to distant areas of the body. (Breast Cancer, 2012). There are several types of Breast Cancer such as non- invasive, invasive, recurrent and metastatic breast cancer. The hereditary risk is that if any women in their family has or had breast cancer are at a higher risk of developing the disease themselves. The scientists just recently discovered that breast cancer can mature when a woman acquires a breast cancer gene from one her parents. This fact is very important to know that 85 to 90 percent of breast cancers are not always hereditary and all women need to get screened for breast cancer. The hormonal risk is the fact that a female hormone such as estrogen and progesterone is the reason breast cancer may form. For example, females who have an early or a late menstruate have a higher risk of breast cancer then women who did not. The age risk is that breast cancer comes to be more common when women grow older. The gender risk factors are more and likely breast cancer occurs in women, men can get breast cancer also. The last and final risk is found in diet and exercise risk factor which states that women who exercise have a less chance to develop breast cancer. Women who gain weight after menopause have more of a chance of breast cancer than women who do not. The only diet risk if a woman who consumes alcohol on a regular basis has an increased chance on having breast
