Autism Spectrum Disorder also known as ASD, is a disorder that affects the brain's development. AutismSpeaks.org distinguishes these disorders in different degrees on the Spectrum. In the article A Mother’s Interview- Me, My Kids and Autism, Liz states, she is tired and fantasizes about sleeping; Liz is a single mother of two and her youngest child is Autistic. Liz also discusses the issues of keeping a job and caring for a son with special needs. “In April 2011 Owen lost his place in his daycare as they were unable to care for him anymore and so after I finished my fourth semester out of six I stayed home with him until he started alternate day Kindergarten” (Lemieux). Not only is Liz raising her children on her own, she is struggling to keep a job and go back to school, causing her to put more stress on herself and
