Preamble:
There comes a time in a person's life when, they should be able to be independent of their decisions, choices, and parents. We have been told all our lives that we couldn’t do that , say that or eat that. Now, the time has come that we must declare our independence because we shall be able to make our own way in our life.
Declaration:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that students have their own rights as in Liberty, pursuit of happiness, and the rights of life. To be able to accomplish, teachers and parents should back off and let the students do what they want to do as long as it doesn’t violate others. Extended time on homework for performing art students.
Dress codes should be brought to a minimum, more styles of clothing should be allowed and be brought to school.
The access to cleaner restrooms should be allowed in our schools.
Hours from school are too late, some students stay in after school activities and they arrive home late, and end up not doing homework.
Statements of Prior Attempts to Redress Grievances
We have talked to the teachers and our parents, but they never seem to listen. When it comes to having our own rights they ignore it and never listen to what we have to say. We listen to them, so why can't they? It's not just teachers and parents, but also the rest of the staff as well.
Resolution of Independence:
Therefore we the students from Anaheim introduce these rules to the rest of the world. Us the students have agreed to speak up and make a change to the school. We respectfully declare to the administration of Anaheim high school for students to gain their independence. To show that we really want our independence, we risk our lives and we will do whatever it takes to gain our
