They now are informing the hunters of the things they would like to accomplish this deer season. Once the conservationist get the word out there, it’s on the hunters and private landowners to accomplish the goals set. “So many people I speak to today are living in Outdoor Channel la-la land, where every deer has to be four years old and 150 inches or they won’t shoot it.” (Dougherty). If all hunters only shoot the big bucks, the goals will never be met.

When hunters are interested, they can go online and find more information on the management plan. When the conservationist want hunters to know about something, they will inform them. Remember when hunting don’t wait for the big buck, you have to take does sometimes. The population is being taken care of so stay calm and watch out for deer when you are driving down the

I looked out the back window of my dad’s white Ford F-250 at the trailer with our camouflage four-wheeler and hundreds of pounds of bait. I was only 11 years old and I was on my way to Two Harbors, MN to hang stands and put out bait for the upcoming bear season. My dad, his brother, his 12-year-old daughter and I were all drawn tags for the 2010 Minnesota bear hunt which opened September 1st. It was our second year of applying for the lottery and we were lucky enough to get drawn. My dad and uncle made a few phone calls and eventually we had a few hundred pounds of gummy bears, donuts, trail mix and cake frosting for the bears.…

It’s November, so that means its deer season. Every year deer season starts on the second weekend of November and last for ten days. I get really excited around August because during this time my family and I start exploring the woods looking for signs of deer. We look for signs like scrapes on trees, footprints, and tall grass that looks like it has been laid on and flattened. We set salt blocks out around our tree stands and set our cameras out hoping to catch a picture of a big buck. After we finish all the preparing we wait until the first week of November. During the first week of November we go back to our stands, check the salt blocks, set new blocks out, and grab our cameras to take back home. Once we get home we look at the pictures…

First, the population of the white-tail deer is entirely too big. In fact, there is a total of twenty-five million white-tail deer in the United States alone.1 Because of this enormous number of deer, they are constantly on the move. This means that they go straight to the roads. Ten thousand white-tail deer get hit by cars and die each year while they try to find new eating grounds.2 Not only is this wasting meat, but it causes severe damage to cars. Deer can even cause car accidents on the highway, killing humans as well. Also, deer are constantly getting pushed into the city because of little food due to the over-populated area of deer. Unfortunately, this causes a hassle in major cities when people try to catch the deer without harming it. Debra Fluitt, a citizen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, said, "Last year a big white-tail deer came into my very own house as I was unloading groceries. When the police tried to get it out, it destroyed over $800 worth of my belongings and finally jumped through the window." After the deer are captured in the city, they are taken back into an environment where food is scarce because of the over-populated deer that are already there. That deer then dies of starvation.…

One way to improve population is to start raising deer on farms and then taking them out and turning them lose in the wild. When hunting comes close to being taken away the price of hunting license will go up. After the price of deer hunting license goes up, hunting privileges will be taken away for a year or two in order to let the population of animals rise again. This would stop the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife from having to take hunting rights away and would help to raise the population of deer back up all at the same…

The game commission allows so many licenses per season to be able to hunt certain animals. Each year there is research done to determine the amount of hunting licenses given in each region every year. This research is to help control the population of wild game, if it were not to be controlled vegetation and crops are destroyed by deer and other animals. Wild life population control also helps with auto accidents. In the year of 2000 there was about 1 million car accidents due to animal collisions which lead to 200 human deaths and causing $1.1 billion dollars in property damage. If there is too many deer around the number for car accidents goes up because the population for deer is out of hand. The wild life population needs to be controlled or the number of car accidents will go up and vegetation and crops will be occupied and destroyed by these…

Does usually have one or two fawns a year around late May or early June. Whitetails are so populated because today there are not many bears, cougars, wolves, and coyotes around like there was back in the day. Whitetails love deforestation because it gives them cover from predators and to keep their young safe. Deer numbers increase a lot every year, because not as many people deer hunt anymore and that causes the deer population to go up. Controlling the deer population is important because whitetails leave droppings everywhere, also when they die their carcasses sit there and rot until something eats them. Deer also destroy people's gardens and sometimes deer attack humans. Every year deer cost the U.S 248 million dollars a year in damage to gardens, house yards, and fields. Whitetails also eat 15 million tons of food a year. Sometimes they also eat plants that are very rare, if so those plants may vanish. Also, whitetail deer carry diseases that can kill livestock and other animals. To control the population better, the government has set laws focusing on how many deer and what type of deer you can shoot. Deer are becoming a worldwide populated and domestic problem that is almost impossible to stop.…
