As a human being, it should be everyone's duty to ensure that senior employee are comfortable in the organization & they are treated equally. Having said that, this situation can be more demotivating for those senior employees, who are not very social in the company, as one of the solution to this harsh challenge is "socializing". I believe this is subjective. For example, such demarcations occur over a period of time for an employee due to several other factors like his skills, knowledge, his seniority, networking, his presence & visibility in the company. However, there have been several cases, wherein a skilled person is not offered the job, because he is older than usual population in the company, also there have been instances, wherein a candidate is not selected, because he does not follow latest trends of younger generations. Such categorizations of a person by his age are absolutely wrong & must be discouraged.
In conclusion, I would like to mention that age discrimination should be treated as a case of harassment & crime. This must be discouraged in the organizations & senior employee must be given more reasons to feel motivated. On the other hand, senior employees need to do additional efforts to get involved with the people from all
