Hard knocks, Loud stadiums, friday nights, and loud prideful cheering. A great description of some good old football. Where the toughest of the tough battle it out on the field, but could we be facing something even greater when those athletes step on the field? Research from many high schools, Universities, and NFL teams show that “on field head banging is taking a serious toll”. It is believed that our brains are still developing till our mid twenties. Due to the ongoing blows to the head in all levels of football the outcome of a long career will be a tragic turn to our bodies. Studies show that football causes severe neurological as well as bone crushing injuries. Making people believe that football has become too dangerous. The study also shows that at least 269 youth, High school, NCAA, and Pro NFL players have suffered such injuries. Computerized neurological testing is being utilized more in managing athletes in high school who suffer any sort of concussion Recent studies show that 25.7% of concussions are happening in high school. An unacceptably high percentage of 39% of high school and NCAA football players are suffering catastrophic head injuries leading to death or nonfatal injury causing neurological dysfunctional disability, and injuries leaving players paralyzed. Head injuries aren’t the only thing hurting football players at all levels. At some point in a career of a football player it may be necessary to take on a solo block or simply make a solo tackle.
