Gangs in rural America are not common for there is little to no possibility with the fact that the population is so low.
Rural area gangs are for the most part homegrown. However, with urban areas in America, there are more chances for gangs to form for the simple fact that things are not as formal or proper in these areas. There are a lot more youth to gather together without the needed activities to distract their attention from violence and other things of the like. This is not alwaysa the case for it has been found that gangs are more commonly found in places experiencing surges in economical growth. This involves the bringing in of inner-city children with the families, often with the stigma of gang life trailing
behind.
All of this activity affects the quality of life in the communities involved by reeking having upon its inhabitants. Where some youth are abandoned by their own peers, family, and sometimes all around society, they find gang life to substitute their needs. Youth are quite often misled by their friends into believing that the only way to be is to live life for themselves and no one else. A lot of wrong doing stems from this. The minds of youth are often conditioned and hardened by the usually older and more ridiculous and ruthless gang leaders into thinking that belonging to gang is what is most important to escape their horrible lives. This eventually leads to the merciless and needless killings of many innocent victims of society. The usage of drugs and alcohol has destroyed the youth in many urban and rural communities, especially those consisting of minority youth.
The sad thing about this is that the struggle to reverse all of this is increasingly hard. The prevention programs and the crack downs on crime seems to not be able to save youth for the vile instincts of the criminals seem to be too far ingrown into them. This is no longer a bad habit which can't be broken. This is also leading a racial divide in communities as racial profile is often a product of the misconception on where the roots of crime lie. Predominantly blacks and other minorities are the prime groups of close focus by the police and the government. A lot of times officers are often mistaken and are sometimes are aware of this and continue to apply their processes anyway, wrongly. In the future, civil communities might cease to exist due to this crucial disruption of peace due to gang influences.
