Beginning of Nursing Educations
Medical equipment technology has drastically changed the face of college educations throughout the years. As an aspiring nurse practitioner, I am aware that these ameliorations in technology will one day enhance my further education. There have been many milestones conquered in the field of nursing education, and the advancement to the Smart Hospital is one of the most distinguished in nursing’s history.
Nursing education began with Florence Nightingale’s Principles for Nurses. Nightingale believed in educating nurses properly, so they could fully understand how to treat patients efficiently. In this time period, technology was obsolete, so Nightingales principles were the base of nursing education. Throughout the years, technology began to reveal and integrate itself into nursing. Student were beginning to use computers in the classroom, which was only the beginning for technology advancements. Today, with the technology that the Smart Hospital has to offer, nursing educational programs are far more advanced than ever imagined. Nursing schools no longer revolve around solely reading a text book, or listening to lectures. The curriculum for nursing students is ever changing, but the Smart Hospital has shed a new light on prospective nurses, and their education. The practice and experience that the Smart Hospital enables will only aid in providing better nurses for our future.
