What have you learned about interprofessionalism during this course? What activities were most beneficial for promoting interprofessionalism? What is the value of working with individuals from various professions in this course? During this course, I learned that interprofessionalism is slowly being integrated into many academic curriculums. The addition of interprofessional education is important because it demonstrates how dynamic the workplace is, especially in a healthcare setting. Throughout graduate school, many students focus solely on the courses for their profession, often neglecting the human aspect of their profession – collaborating with vast health professions in the future. By introducing and incorporating interprofessionalism, students can understand how a physician interacts with nurses, staff members, technicians, and so forth. The group case studies were beneficial for promoting interprofessionalism because it allowed us to provide our perspectives and incorporate our experiences to the healthcare setting, such as on how implementing a new electronic medical record. In adult learning, the learner is independent and able to draw on previous experiences. Moreover, the learner can challenge current understandings and ask their own questions. As a result, the learner is active in his or her learning, allowing for greater retention of advanced, complex concepts. My philosophy guides my behavior when it comes to learning by focusing on how the concepts and ideas will apply to my profession or in real-life situations. Furthermore, I will be more driven to learn based on my need to know in order to connect the dots. By connecting the dots, I am draw from my previous experiences to new ideas and am able to see the bigger
