Leadership and resilience are crucial to establish and accomplish a mission. The Brazilian Army has a publication concerning leadership, Manual de Campanha C 20-10 - Lideranca Militar, 2ª edicao, 2011. However, this manual does not reach directly the importance of resilience as a determinant factor to prepare Soldiers. Leadership provides objective, motivation, and guidance while resilience brings the ability to recover from difficulties, and to adapt a new environments. Thus, they walk together to achieve the success of a mission. The military profession is different of the other professions because Soldiers must be ready to use lethal force and have to be brave to outgrow several kinds of threats (ADRP 6-22, 2012). Therefore, the leadership and resilience present the same importance in the MRT program. Through some attributes taught in the MRT, Soldiers can develop the resilience and other leadership skills simultaneously.

The importance of receiving leadership and resilience instructions by MRT is present in daily activities, tough situations and to solve problems. The focus of Brazilian Army leadership is its officers while MRT shows the importance of developing leadership skills and resilience in noncommissioned officers (NCO) to spread the positive psychology and amplify good results in an organization. By leadership, Soldiers encounter the motivation and the purpose to accomplish the mission. By resilience, Soldiers identify problems and develop behaviors and attitudes to overcome them.
