Some people have different opinions when it comes to deciding if children should get vaccinated or not. There are both pros and cons to getting children vaccinated, some of the pros are that it can help get rid of any type of bacteria that may be building up inside a child’s body. A con is that vaccines can sometimes cause serious and even fatal side effects. However, overall vaccinations and getting children vaccinated would be the best way to go. it’s better to be thankful now than to be sorry later. Vaccinations are the best way to keep children from being vulnerable to diseases or viruses. One of the main reasons why a person should get their child vaccinated is that vaccinations can save your child’s life. (Vaccines.com) By going to the doctor and…
My topic is over vaccines in the United States and how we need them to keep our country healthy. My main points are the reasons we have them, the health benefits of the vaccines, and the safety concerns about when we don’t have routine vaccines.…
Certain things that we encounter in life, have hidden dangers, while others only look scary at first glance and turn out to be quite positive. It is because of these types of things that many people become confused when it comes to making life altering decisions, such as being vaccinated. While many think of vaccines as harmful and dangerous, they are in fact safe and essential for stopping the spread of life threatening diseases, and therefore should be mandatory.…
In 2010 PBS aired a one hour Frontline documentary about the vaccine war in the United States. This documentary pitted scientists and parents against each other, scientist’s back up their claims with scientific evidence while the parent’s arguments are solely based on opinion. The parents introduced throughout the film who were against vaccines made claims that the vaccines given to children in today’s world are the cause of many issues, like the rise in autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. These parents also feel there is no need to vaccinate because the diseases that their children are being vaccinated for are no longer an issue in the united states. While the scientists stress the importance of vaccines because they have decreased the issues of these diseases that cause so many problems when infected. A lot of these scientists are older and were children when these diseases had outbreaks and may have even gotten the disease themselves. In the films conclusion Arthur Caplan is quoted saying “Do good in the name of children. Do good in the name of public health”. This quote leaves the viewers with the decision on who to side with. I feel like the documentary was in favor of the scientists and were in support of vaccinating children.…
Different approaches are employed to generate and also deliver a vaccine; each method has its own merits and demerits. Few of these merits are discussed below: The main advantage of genetically engineered organisms used as vaccines is that the proteins that are formed do not contain the complete viral strain. So it has no risks related to accidental immunization with live virus. Direct cloning into the DNA of vaccinia virus is promising, however vaccines using this method have not been released into the market yet (Nagy, 2001).…
Let's say it is the future and your only child just turned three. You haven't gotten your polio vaccines yet. Because why would you get one, they're just a waste of time right? Soon enough your child contracts the sickness, and he falls very ill. You call a doctor after a few days of misery but he says there is nothing he can do, and that it is too late. Why would anybody want this terrible fate to happen to anyone, especially a child? We believe that vaccines should be mandatory in order to stop the spread of diseases and prevent less tragedies like this one.…
A very small part of the population of the U.S are allergic to some of the vaccines yes only a few are but how would it feel giving your child a shot that could KILL them or do much worse. Not to mention that some vaccines can cause…
Should childhood vaccination be mandatory? Vaccination protects your child from preventable diseases and will keep your child healthy. In this day and time, there are many diseases that are preventable with a safe and effective vaccine that has been FDA approved. In any vaccination there are some risks you are taking because some children have reactions to the vaccine. Many parents do not realize the effects of not vaccinating their child. This can cause serious risks and even put the child’s life in jeopardy. When a person chooses not to vaccinate a child, this can cause effects on their immune system and even long term issues.…
I am personally against being required by the state to be injected with a vaccine, but vaccinations aren’t all bad. Some people think they are one of the world’s greatest science inventions. They have protected millions of Americans from deadly infections and diseases such as, influenza, pneumonia, and polio. Without a vaccination, you can endanger yourself, your family members, and coworkers. Plus, the chances of getting an allergic reaction to vaccinations are extremely rare. And, vaccines are much cheaper than buying bottles and liquid medications for the…
If a child has not been immunized, he or she runs a much higher risk of contracting diseases and spreading it to other people. Healthy children should receive their childhood immunizations to reduce the risk to those children who cannot receive vaccines due to autoimmune conditions or allergies to the ingredients in vaccines.…
Vaccines are responsible for minimizing the risk of many deadly diseases and even eradicating some completely. People today are privileged enough to live during a time where the fear of dying from a disease like measles or smallpox is negligible. Even so vaccines are not without dissenters. There is a segment of humanity that believes there is a credible association between vaccines and rising autism rates. The following articles will show that there are varying ideas on the best way to disprove vaccination opponents, yet no solid solution has been reached on how to convince vaccination opponents that their fears are unfounded.…
Although a lot of people believe that vaccinations aren’t always the best thing to turn to and also believe that they make patients prone to the specific sickness, vaccine-preventable diseases haven’t gone away. In a time when people can travel across the world, it’s not hard to see how easy it is to contract diseases from all over the world. Vaccines are just as important to your health then just healthy foods such as a diet and exercise, but they can also mean the difference between life and death.…
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services believes in the right of American citizens to question the validity of mandatory vaccinations. The video by U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy presents the importance of informing the general public on the subject of mandatory vaccinations as a public health issue. The public refusal to accept mandatory vaccinations is an understandable and reasonable objection to government mandated medical procedures. We respect the right of all citizens to voice their opinions on this subject.…
The modern medicine really made a significant contribution to our society. Vaccines can prevent a disease from occurring in the first place, rather than attempt to cure it after the fact. The invention of the vaccines prevents people from being infected. There are three benefits of vaccines, prevent the diseases in the childhood, protect the community and much cheaper than getting the treatment.…
Vaccines are an essential part of preventative care throughout life. Their purpose is to protect people and prevent them from catching diseases that can be dangerous and even life threatening . Before vaccines were created, almost everyone in the U.S. contracted the measles and a about couple hundred would die yearly from it. Today, it’s rare for a doctor to see someone infected with measles. The development of vaccines is a long and complex process that takes about 10-15 years. Vaccines protect people and those who cannot get vaccinated due to either being too young or allergic, there are a few people who voluntarily opt out from having their children getting vaccinated. People of the anti-vaccine movement refuse to have their children vaccinated because of their personal beliefs, and in return can be threatening for those who are unable to be vaccinated due to age, health and pregnancy. Even though there has been evidence that autism is not linked to vaccines, many people still refuse to have their children vaccinated. While some children are being protected by others that are vaccinated, it is only weakening the immunity herd as vaccinations decline. Immunity herd is when a large portion of the community is immunized against contagious disease in which there is a less chance of an outbreak. For those who cannot get…
