pointless because no one would want to get an education and spend thousands of dollars to get paid the same as a person who did not get an education. MINIMUM WAGE SHOULDN’T BE RAISED
Minimum Wage Shouldn’t be Raised
Minimum wage is the lowest wage permitted by law or by special agreement. People are petitioning to raise minimum wage because they do not believe they get paid enough to work. MInimum wage should not be raised to fifteen dollars per hour.
Emergency Medical Technician’s make fifteen dollars per hour. According to Aurelio Locsin, emergency medical technician’s make between fifteen and twenty-three dollars per hour. An unskilled laborer should not make the same amount of wages as a skilled laborer. According to the U.S. Postal Service entry level government positions such as a mail carrier assistant makes between fourteen and twenty-five dollars per hour.
Education would be pointless because if an unskilled worker gets paid fifteen dollars an hour then people are going to think what is the purpose of going to college and spending thousands of dollars to get a degree and get paid the same as someone working in a fast food restaurant.
A person who has their degree should get paid more than someone who does not.
If minimum wage gets raised, then employers will not be able to afford to pay their workers. People will lose their job to businesses shutting down. The employers will have to raise the prices of everything in their store so they can pay the workers that they could afford to keep. Whatever gets changed at the beginning makes something else change later on for an example if minimum wage goes up, then prices will go up and less people will have jobs.
The many people who are petitioning for higher wages are complaining they need more money to live. According to the United States Department of labor eighty-nine percent of the people that want to raise minimum wage is twenty years old or older, fifty-six percent are women.Minimum wage is not for grown adults to live off of or to raise a family, it is for high school or college students that can not have a good job. Minimum wage jobs are for people to start out at and work their way up into a high position or get enough money to pay for
college.
Wages cannot be raised to fifteen dollars an hour. What is expected from people is for them to say that minimum wage should not go up, but they are too worried about living off of minimum wage. The importance of this is that lifestyles will not change, if minimum wage raises then everything else will rise and it will all still be the same. Minimum wage should stay the same and all the petitioning should stop and let everything stay the same and just move on with their lives. Society should see that if they would not want fifteen dollars an hour then everything will be the same, but the adults that are complaining about wanting to raise minimum wage should go get some type of educational degree and get a good paying job and stop complaining. According to National Conference of State Legislature this table reflects the state's minimum wage and what people want paid as of November first of two-thousand and fifteen. twenty-nine states and D.C. have higher wages than federal minimum wage, which is seven twenty-five an hour. Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee do not have a state minimum wage.
