Encounter; the encounter of New Mexico was a huge shift in the US. It allowed for railroad building, new settlement land, and more jobs in the territory. There was a very high demand for a good place to work and a new place to settle and recover. One of the huge advantages of New Mexico was it was a very dry and warm climate which allowed for health recovery and aid in breathing sicknesses such as TB, a widely spread disease before New Mexico became a state. New Mexico’s constitution was first thought to be enacted 1911, but it couldn’t have been because President Taft hadn’t come to sign it yet. However in 1912, President Taft was there, and he wanted New Mexico as an official state, so the constitution was done, it gave all the great rights that America has to its people.
