Within the October 9th letter, Charlie describes a choice, “ Now, normally I am very shy but Nothing seemed like the guy you could just walk up to at a football game even though you are three years younger and not popular” (Chbosky 19). Charlie made a choice to go out of his comfort zone to make friends. Charlie made a choice that made him, by going out of his comfort zone he was able to become the person he was meant to be. Everyone at one point or another has to make a choice to get out of their comfort zone and make their life their own and live it the way they want to live. At the end of the October 28th letter, Charlie sees Brad and Patrick kissing in a room, Patrick asks Charlie to keep it secret and when Charlie does Patrick makes a toast to Charlie, “ He’s a Wallflower… You see things. You keep quiet about them. And you understand” (Chbosky 37). Charlie is describing a trust relationship with Patrick. Patrick was able to trust Charlie because they are becoming friends. Every person has a friend that can trust with any information, most people call them their best friend. Humans long for trust and support from another being.
