An example of this is Philadelphia 76er’s Nerelens Noel. In his only year with the Kentucky Wildcats it was universally known that Noel was going straight to the NBA after his freshman season. In a game against the Florida Gators the 6-foot-10 freshman went up for a block and landed wrong laying on the ground riving in pain holding on to his knee. Nerelens Noel was declared out for the season with a torn ACL in his left knee. As a result of this injury Marlen Garcia claims, Noel become the poster player to the dump the age rule. A young player can mature faster in the NBA rather in college the reason being is that in college there are a lot of distraction, parties and trouble a player can get into in campus not to say the NBA doesn’t have the same issues, it just in college if the player gets in serious problem the worst they get is a slap on the wrist but in the NBA a player get suspended and fined up to 100k it makes the player mature quick because it tell the young star that ever thing they do has consequence. High school player that enter the NBA have had major success players like Kobe Bean Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Garnett. Kobe Bryant entered in 1997 from Lower Merion High School, since his arrival Bryant become a 5-time NBA champion, 16-time NBA All-star, 2008 league MVP, and he’s 4th all-time in scoring.
