During the Partials War, the citizens of East Meadow, isolated themselves in order to protect themselves from the Partials. The humans are isolated to the one part of the island, whereas the Partials are all over the rest of the country. The intention to bring everyone there was a smart thing to do, but since this decision, the government has taken it to the extreme. The government won’t let anyone outside of its borders unless they have a military reason to be out there. They claim that it is for everyone’s safety but really they just want to make sure they keep control over their citizens. Compared to the real world, this is similar to the idea of immigration in our country. Our government is telling immigrants that they can not come into our country and even has people patrolling the borders to prevent anyone from coming in.
