The Technology of Health Care
The technology in Health Care has hugely improved over the years. There has been lots of technological advances over the years in Health Care according to several sources. One of the multiple sources is called “HealthcareITNews”. Another source that I have found is called “Becker’s Hospital Review”. The last source I found was called “referralmd”.
According to “Becker's Hospital Review” lots of technological advances have occurred in the past few years and there are more to come in the future. For example ; Wireless communication. Even though instant messaging and walkie-talkies aren't new technologies themselves, they have been introduced into the hospital setting, replacing devices like pagers and beepers. By the end of 2012, nearly 3 million patients worldwide were using a home monitoring system/systems according to the Research and Markets report. Monitoring patients health at home can minimize costs and undesired visits to the physician’s office. “If there is something wrong for a patient, they can be contacted,” Mr. Higman says. Remote monitoring tools basically let other people monitor your health for you. It may sound Invasive in a way, but it's great for patients with serious or major illnesses.
Another technological advance from “Becker’s Hospital Review” is “Sensors and Wearable Technology”. The wearable medical device market is growing at a growth rate of 16.4 percent a year, according to a Transparency Market Research report. Wearable medical technology is simply just another way to collect data. Sensors and wearable technology could be as simple as an alert sent to the care provider when a patient falls down or get hurt.
