The Drinking Age 18 the dawn of adulthood. An age where you are allowed to vote, allowed to buy a lottery ticket, and allowed to register and fight for our country. Is there anything you can’t do? Yes, at 18 you cannot buy liquor of any form, at anytime, or anywhere legally. I think that the legal age for drinking and purchase of liquor should be lowered from 21 to 18 and I will briefly explain my position on this matter. People went off to fight for our country at 18, away from family and friends, in foreign territory with the uncertainty of life. A person risks life and limb in war, but they can’t come home and have a drink? Going off into war has serious consequences mentally, physically, and emotionally. This is a major life event if one chooses to do so. Why should a person be able to risk their life, but not be able to buy a drink on a weekend?
