The Cold War was a result of conflicts between the US and the Soviet Union. These conflicts were both internal and external that could have been prevented. They include the creation and use of the atomic bomb, US and Soviet Union world supremacy, and the creation of the Truman Doctrine and Containment. The US was the first country to develop an atomic bomb. This bomb was created in case any country attacked the US or another war took place and would be used only if necessary as a military weapon.
