1. What are the major similarities and differences between the Google and Yahoo business models?
The major similarities between Google and Yahoo business models are; Google and Yahoo if used as a search engine both generate revenue from advertising and from affiliate referral fees where they would receive a referral fee or percentage of the revenue from any resulting sales.
The major differences between Google and Yahoo business models are; Google is used mainly as a search engine AdWords, Search, YouTube, Gmail, Orkut, Google earth, Google labs etc. Google maps, Picasa, Google books, Google Scholar, Google Docs, Google Chrome, and Chromebook, where Yahoo is used as a News, Mail, Screen, Flickr, News Digest, Sports, Fantasy Sports, Finance, Weather, Tech, My Yahoo, Messenger, Food

2. What are the most critical challenges and issues companies face when expanding the reach of their markets?
Since internet is now available for everybody and it’s a non-stop in demand growing market, companies would need to have a presence online to expand the reach of their market in an effective and cost efficient way that would generate a better profit. But building a website that is different and attractive to customers is challenging because there are many other options. In order to be present online there are factors to be considered for a successful and profitable presence which would include: developing a clear understanding of the business objective and knowing how to choose the right technology to achieve those objectives by going thru a building steps which are: the organizational capabilities, human resources, hardware architecture, software, telecommunications and site design. Also they should look into how to have their web site different from the other competitors to attract and retain customers.
