Rhetorical Analysis Essay -- Bianchi
As a sports fan you most likely attend sporting events like, an OKC thunder basketball game, a Green Bay Packers football game, or maybe even a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game where beer is a choice of drink. Both women and men enjoy drinking beer and eating hot dogs at sporting events. Bianchi’s use of rhetorical questions calculated to encourage the reader’s opposition to drinking beer at sports events. When he asks “Banning beer from football games?” in regards to keeping beer allowed at games, he wants his audience that attend sports events to view the acceptance of beer as negative and unsafe for the safety of the crowd who don’t drink beer. When Bianchi repeatedly says “Sports and beer”, it is clear that he believes as her later states “if sports really wanted to get rid of the boors, it would get rid of the beers”, that the acceptance of allowing beer in sports events will result to the big time sports events that don’t take part in drinking or allowing beer. Bianchi’s use of concession is used to encourage the reader’s to understand what televised sports would be like without beer. When he states “without beer commercials, networks couldn’t pay those exorbitant right fees to televise sporting events”, he wants to get his point across to the audience that beer along with beer commercials brings in a lot of money would be lost for the beer companies along with the all of the sporting events that allow beer in the facilities. Bianchi’s use of anticipation is used to express what beer has caused in real sports events today. He states “The ugliest melee in professional sports history started with beer”, also saying that beer has caused a lot of trouble in today’s sports. Bianchi wants the audience to accept the fact that allowing beer in sports events has caused a lot of “stadium violence”, and upset sports fans who don’t agree with allowing beer in sporting
