Queen Vashti was the queen of Persia, alongside King Ahasuerus. She is exiled, as suggested by the Eunuchs, for being disobedient to the King with his request to see her. The story of Queen Vashti makes Queen Esther’s actions all the more significant. Being that Queen Esther came to rein after Queen Vashti the knowledge of what could happen to one for being disobedient was ever present. All of the responses I received, on behalf of the people I questioned, said the people they chose were great, because they were selfless, put others first, caring, helpful, sacrificing, serving, and strong. Therefore the people who put themselves last, were actually first in these people eyes. Much like in the story of Esther.
