Ethics are the basic concepts of right and wrong, evil and good, to do or not to do. Ethics are a part of everyday living and are a code of morals followed by a particular person or group. In school, whether it is middle or high school, college of university, there are academic ethics that are to be followed. Misconduct involving academics has many entities, which can range from cheating on a test, buying papers, and plagiarism. All of these are made easy with the up and coming technology of today, involving cell phones, tablets, and the internet advertising writing essays. Academic ethics are those in which involves morals of right and wrong. These include not plagiarizing, whether it is intentionally or unintentionally, which leads to honesty and keeping up with the school standard of conducts academically. Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s work as if it was your own, without giving them credit or citing the sources properly. Having professional ethics makes that professional reliable and trustworthy, which is a good character trait to have in any career field and everyday life. Having professional and positive ethics in a work environment makes the productivity higher because everyone has a similar end goal. This goal being to make them and the company they work for look good. If one in a professional setting does not have good ethics, then that business or company and sometimes even person will self destruct because everything they have accomplished was built on lies and deceit and you can only keep a lie going on before the truth comes to
