Guidelines for Case Analysis

Assumption while analyzing Cases:
Students are requested to understand that a case study is a simulated situation of organizational issues. This may carry fictitious names and references or even factual references.
Case Analysis is an experience to students to extrapolate a real life situation and develop insight into possible problems/issues which would be prevalent in organizations. This is to develop their analytical and problem solving abilities with reference to organizational issues to be successful managers in the future.
CONTENTS
1. Synopsis of the Case:
A brief note on the ideas captured in the case is to be reported to gain clarity on the understanding of the material read. This is not to be understood that a gist of the contents is expected. The expectation is to seek the insights gained from the case as relevant concerns in the case.
2. Issues/ Problems in the Case:
This is an important item while analyzing the case. The lengthy matter running as case study can have numerous things which may or may not have direct bearing on aspects to be addressed. The student is expected to list down various problems or issues which may be explicitly/implicitly stated. By doing this more ease and clarity is gained to resolve the same.
3. Brief reference to the theoretical support to resolve Issues/ Problems in the Case:
At this juncture students have to differentiate a professional approach in seeking theoretical/research references which would be supportive background of the same. This is not to be understood to reproduce all the theoretical knowledge. This is to serve only as a supportive back-up for the analysis done.
4. Discussion and Analysis:
This is the most important item of the case analysis. This makes provision for the student to present his/her views regarding the
