Nurses often lay everything on their experience and what they have learned in the past. It is something that has worked before, so why it still wouldn’t. In the end world changes and with the change comes new methods to do things, which necessary doesn’t mean that we must change our old methods. Sometimes it is needed to seek for new information, so nurse can give best care to their patients.
2. Issues
Evidence based nursing seems to be something that not every nurse necessary prac-tice and there are several reasons for that. Not every hospital has that many computers for nurses to use, not the mention that time is often an issue in hospitals. Many nurses don’t have extra time to spend searching for information (Pravikoff, Tanner & Pierce, 2005; Gar-land Braid & Miller, 2015). I can just imagine how confused nurses who haven’t learned about evidence-based practice are, when they come to the point where they need to use it. I’m still confused how to use it. They certainly need help with using the tools which can be more time consuming and difficult for nurses than now. Teaching nurses would need some money, so who would pay for that? Nurses themselves be-cause it can be part of their education or city, hospitals, because it is something that provides patients better care.
Sometimes nurses feel that they don’t know what information they can trust or how to combine different knowledge together (Renolen & Hjälmhult, 2015.) I think it is because it can differ a lot from what they have learned in the past. Problem can also be the nurse, they don’t want to be questioned about their knowledge. That is more a pride problem that shouldn’t be there because nurses are supposed to take care of other people, help
