The first characteristic mentioned involves making decisions using the best peer reviewed evidence. This was observed during the monthly mandatory training session that I was required to attend while as stated earlier, there was a reemphasized statement on the difficulty of assigning specific dementia symptoms and stages to different individuals. While there is still no cure and only an estimation from rigorous qualitative and quantitative research studies as to how fast or slow Alzheimer's or Dementia progresses in an individual, this shines a light on the need for more research. I was instructed during my internship meetups with my supervisor to identify and gain contact information from all attendees which would in turn, provide me with a sense of how different stakeholders could be contacted. These would be stakeholders that ranged from community board members, residents, councilmen, to the highly positioned borough president representative. I believe that that the progress that I have done and made to this point has shown my supervisor that I am capable of such valuable competencies required to become a leader. One article that used an agency capacity model describes networking as a crucial aspect in that agencies require its workers to identify potential funding partnerships that would correspond to the agency's mission(Collins, C pg.S20). A task that comes to mind that occurred recently involved attending my first senior citizens health fair in which my supervisor allowed me to attend and represent Caringkind without supervision.
