Some examples of reasons and outcomes of sacrifices include firefighters, police officers, etc. risking their lives everyday to save people and make towns a safer place to live. When interviewing to become a firefighter, police officer, etc. they know if they do get the job they will be putting their life at risk every second that they are in that position. But, they still do it anyways because putting their own life at stake to save someone else's is worth the risk. Another example is people who cancel their everyday plans to take care of a sick loved one. This may seem like a smaller task when compared to the other example of people risking their lives, but it means just as much. Because even the smallest sacrifices can make someones day.

You just need to go with your gut instinct and really think about the pros and cons. Some questions to ask yourself include "What will happen if I make this sacrifice?, What will happen if I don't?, What are the possible long term outcomes of either decision?, etc.". There are also many values in making sacrifices, sometimes they will show immediately and sometimes it takes awhile for them show. Most lessons learned from making sacrifices are for the better and can really help someone learn and grow.
