What is an allegory? An allegory is a story that has a lesson or moral in it that is not told plainly. An example of an allegory is the tortoise and the hare. The hare thought that since he was faster that he could win the race no matter what happened. So the hare goofed off and and sleep and when he woke up the tortoise was almost at the finish line. The hare tried to catch up but could not. So what the moral is to me from that story is that you do not have to be fast at everything to win the “Race” but slow and steady. The allegory in the book that I am reading is called “Heartless” is ( from the bible) Jesus and his love for the church. King Aethelbald loves Una as much as Jesus loves us and the church.

The first one goes by the name of Prince Aethelbald. She dislikes him very much because he is rude to her family. The second suitor goes by the name of Gervais. He left early on. The third one is Leonard a jester.He is working for money to go back and help his country defeat the dragon that is destroying his home. The fourth one is old enough and obese enough to be her father. She is taken by the dragon because the jester made a deal with him. Then she turns into a dragon girl to find out that the jester her love turned against her after all she had done for him.(The dragon kissed her forehead to turn her into the Dragon Girl she was.) Once she turned Aethelbald tried to help her several times and finally she was too weak to go on so he killed her to bring Una back and then defeated the dragon. King Fidel went back to ruling his side of the Old Bridge so did she on her side of the bridge as King and Queen. Aethelbald the one who saved her and the first suitor is the King of Parumvir. Her father and brother were both happy with her
