In this short story, "Araby," many biblical allusions are mentioned. In the beginning, it is stated that there is an apple tree in the middle of the garden. The apple tree obviously resembles the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil which foreshadows a fall of innocence. Other biblical allusions include: a priest, prayer, and the Lord.
