When Prince Prospero set his eyes on the masked figure, he became defensive following it all the way to the end of the building. Once he had reached the end, Prince Prospero leapt into action with his dagger drawn out only to be stopped by a quick move of the figure killing the prince. This enraged the revelers which, “at once threw themselves into the black apartment, and, seizing the mummer, whose tall figure stood erect and motionless within the shadow of the ebony clock, gasped in unutterable horror at finding the grave-cerements and corpse-like mask”. With the entity turning into dust leaving only the clothes and mask and killing the Prince, it deals with Dark Romanticism by providing an occult.
In conclusion, “The Masque of the Red Death” was a tale Written by Edgar Allen Poe. It dealt greatly with causing widespread chaos by bringing death within the kingdom of Prince Prospero. Throughout the story you can see things such as the setting with the different colored rooms leading up to the final room in which Prince Prospero died, to the ending with the mysterious figure just turning into dust after getting attacked.
