I have chosen to primarily focus and explore the characterization of Cyclops, Professor X and their rivalry. First off let’s start with introduction the real name of Cyclops is Scott Summers. He was an orphan mutant teenager who desperately needed help until found by Charles Xavier who took him under his protection and taught him to become an X-Men. Many might find the character of Scott Summers boring but If we dig a little deeper then we can find that he is as much interesting and entertaining if not more than that of Wolverine. Charles Xavier is shown to have established a school for gifted youngster’s others like him to help them. These …show more content…
He must wear a Ruby Quartz visor to prevent them escaping. Ruby Quartz is the only thing that can hold his uncontrollable optic blast. People have grow to fear and hate him without knowing him. From what we have read so far, we know he tries to save mutants not only that but also helps humans when they are in need. People hate him some even try and scheme to destroy his race and books show that he is still fighting for the approval of Humans. Same goes for other X-MEN. I believe X-MEN are a symbol of Queer togetherness each character in X-MEN franchise represents Gender Identity that exists in our real world. LGBTQ community have faced denial, discrimination, social unjust, and many more social disturbances. People with LGBTQ identies usually don’t find others like them around them. They are in desperate need of help and they need someone to speak and share their feelings with but most of them don’t find any. Most Men’s have other Men’s in their life who can support them who can understand what they are going through. Likewise, women are related to other women in their lives. People from minority groups, people of color are born into those communities. But things are different with people with LGBT identities grow up isolated from other LGBT people. We can see and relate this with how Charles was able to help Scott and understand what Scott and his friends were going through. Scott was able to find help, love, acceptance and guidance form Charles and his mutant friends. Perhaps if Scott had had a bad guidance he would not be as much of a good person. LGBT kids are more likely to expect rejection from their parents than Kids with disabilities or Kids who are adopted. It has been established as a fear in society on how their identity will be received by their parents, their siblings, friends, relatives and other people in
