Regarding Henry
Freud’s Theory of the id is that: The reservoir of instinctual and biological urges, and it operates on a “pleasure principle”. Freud’s theory of the Ego is
That it is: Rational, thoughtful decision- maker. And it operates on a “reality principle”. Freud’s theory of the Superego is that is is: The source of the conscience that inhibits the socially undesirable impulses of the id. And it operates on “moral principle”.
In the id of Henry turner’s life is that the id, operates on the “pleasure principle” An example of that would be him buying a puppy. In the Superego in Henry turner’s life is that it operates on the “reality principle” An example of that would be him When he didn’t want to apologize to Rachel after yelling at her, about spilling juice on the piano. And i think that his natural state is that he operates on a “Superego” Because there were a to of scenes with the superego in it, Like for example there was one scene that. When on the phone to the furniture company, about a table that he had owned …show more content…
and that was his own also.
The scenes that display henry’s id are, When he cried out after eating spicy eggs.
First word was the word “Ritz”. And when henry went down to the grocery store to buy a pack of “Cigarettes” because he was craving for them also. And when he was lashing out at Bradley, because he did not even want to to leave the hospital. And that was because he liked staying at the hospital, and the hospital was his life after he got shot with a bullet, and henry never even really wanted to go home. And in another id scene he bought a puppy for his daughter. Rachel to have as a pet and that was because she wanted a pet to keep at the house for company. And in another id scene is that he spilled juice all over his nice “Breakfast Table”. And also in another scene. He was shooting “Paper Balls” at Rachel in the
library.
The scenes that display henry’s. Superego are when he was on the phone with the “Furniture Company” and Henry was complaining about his table. That he had bought from that company and that henry had owned and was his own also. And in another scene he never really wanted to apologize to Rachel, After he was yelling. At her about spilling juice on the piano he had owned. And another example of the superego is that he was being angry at his wife, after he found out that his wife had an affair. And in another empale of it is that he was calling out to the law firm. And for doing the wrong thing in lawsuit. And for my other thought. He had been taking letters to the. Matthews so they could go after to the “Hospital” for the malpractice there at the hospital that they needed to go for in order to get the right treatment they needed for it to work.
In his natural state it would be his “Superego” because the movie had a lot of scenes that involved superego, one scene that involved superego was the scene where, he was being angry after he found out that his wife had an affair with someone. And in another scene of the superego he was calling out to the law firm office on doing the wrong thing in his lawsuit. And in another scene he was taking letters To the Matthews, and that was so they could go after to the hospital to get the right malpractice. And in another scene he never really wanted to apologize to his daughter Rachel, after he was yelling out at her about spilling juice on the piano that did not even ned juice spilled on in the first place. And also in another scene of the superego whenever he was on the phone with the furniture company, that he was complaining about the table that he had owned from that furniture company he had himself.
The id will always have a reservoir of the instinctual and the biological urges. And it always operates on the “Pleasure Principle”.
The ego will always have the Rational, Thoughtful decision - maker. And it will always operate on the “Reality principle”.
The superego will always have the Source of conscience that inhibits the socially undesirable impulses of the id its self. Ad it will always operate on the “Moral principle”.
Henry’s state is that He had a lot of state that went with him throughout the movie, Like for example his natural state was his superego that he had going with him though out the movie himself. And his other state is that he lived a pretty good life until he got shot with a gun at his head and in his chest as well. And also for him going to the hospital and getting full recovery was just good for him to get.
My final thought was that e learned about henry’s id ego and his superego also, and that was fun and interesting to learn also and that tells us now that we all learned about Henrys id, ego, and his superego as well, and all may have actually learned about our very one id, ego and superego as well.
