What does it mean to have Hope? According to Merriam Webster, Hope is to want something to happen or be true and thinks that it could happen or be true. My definition of Hope is something to hold onto in the midst of trouble. In Shawshank Redemption, Stephen King is trying to tell us that Hope is something that is fought for and can give enough courage to push ourselves to do anything, that why he gives Andy and Red different points of views on the topic.
