The ignorance the black people receive from the white communities is tremendous. They are not allowed to pass specific areas in the town and have to wait until the white people have proceeded before they start. People get irritated or furious when situations are involved with them. “Reasonable people go stark raving mad when anything involving a Negro comes up” Even the citizens of Maycomb who care about the black people, who are helpful to them and who befriend with them are also being judged and disrespected. The conception is made that if both black and white man are suspects of a specific crime, the black man is more thought of as the criminal before a white man. They are not given chances to prove their point or to be heard even. They are called ‘n’ every time they are seen. The truth is that “some Negroes lie, some Negroes are immoral, some Negro men are not to be trusted around women— black or white. But this is a truth that applies to the human race and to no particular race of men.” This is the difference that is made, but in reality no man has never said a lie applying to all the communities, no man has never lied, but a black man lies once and the whole community is defamed for it. An example of the loyalty of the black people is the church named First Purchase in Maycomb, where the black people attend to worship regularly, whereas the white men go their to gamble.
