One thing that particularly caught my attention was their attitudes towards mixed children. I myself being a mixed child, found this very interesting. I found that their views towards mixed children back then is exactly the same compared to today. For example they say mixed kids are sad since they don't belong anywhere. The black people say they aren't black enough and the white people say they aren't white enough. I completely agree with this due to my own personal experience. People will make comments about me and how i don't fit in with them and it's very frustrating. Another thing they mention is how you cant tell if a person is mixed unless you know that person. That is also true since if you looked at me you wouldn't think i'm mixed, but in reality i am. Mixed children come in all different shades so it would be hard to tell. Lastly, they mention how if you have one drop of Negro blood in you then you are automatically all black and that is completely true. Many people think that since i'm a darker skinned mixed girl that i'm fully black and i have no say in it. I feel like people need to realized that mixed kids can identify with whatever they want. We have both white and black blood in us and its time people start seeing both
