Specifically, I noticed that the employees tend to stay with their own age group. Not to say that the other employees do not acknowledge the other but it seemed to only be about sticking to people they relate to. Although, I did see one situation where two Wal-Mart employees who worked in the same section, talked to each like they were friends. I think that had something to do with working in the same section which is why they had to interact with one another. Which brings me to how the genders acted towards one another. I observed man to man interaction, woman to woman interaction, and man to woman interaction. I did not think that their was any certain gender that was hanging out with their own gender. It all had to do with age groups and not gender. All genders seemed to be cool and collective with one another. Although, the environment did change when there was a load of customers in Wal-Mart. The employees had to have fewer interaction because of the hustle of customers. On the other hand, sometimes I witnessed some employees getting frustrated with one another. They were a community and were helpful with not just each other but to their employees. The employees made contact with the customers in a polite way. Showing the customers by being patient and respectful. The community of Wal-Mart is close and knows when to be closed off by people who are not in their same workforce. They know how to separate their work environment to the customers. Although, there was some instances where I saw some employees being individualistic. They were keeping to themselves and did not bother with other employees. I could tell that they only wanted to be their for work and go home with no intention of having any interaction.
