Shakespeare’s father, John Shakespeare, was often in office as mayor or an alderman and I think this ties in with why he used a royal family in this novel, they had power and they were government. Shakespeare also had an only son named Hamnet, whom died at the age of 11. It is believed by many scholars that Shakespeare wrote Hamlet in honor of his son Hamnet. In the novel, Hamlet dies like Shakespeare’s son, so it is classified as a tragedy, but for Shakespeare, it was real life. Therefore, I believe Shakespeare wrote the novel Hamlet in objective third person and first person because he wanted the readers and the audience to understand every thought and feeling of every character.
