Examples of poor practice and unprofessional conduct that may impact on outcomes for children and young people could be, for example, professional incompetence. By a staff member being incompetent at their job, this could impact the young people by them not being willing to build that trust in them.

Another form of poor practice is discrimination. Discrimination can have a massive impact on the young people’s outcomes. This is because; if the young people are limited to their opportunities then they will struggle to reach their full potential. Any form of discrimination goes against company policies and ethos and is answerable to by the law. Discrimination in the workplace is illegal, and any company would come under scrutiny and investigation
