he was black it would not of been, proved by Tom. In the movie Heck Tate said ‘’the dead bury the dead’’ proving that he knew justice had been served for once concerning the black community.
To proceed, one of the similarities is that the movie included most of the story line that the book did. However, the movie skipped some of the most vital ones in the book such as the knothole, including cement being poured into it, as well as watching Dill,Jem, and Scout’s perception of Boo change as they got older. This was a major help to the theme of Boo being a mockingbird. Another example of a similarity is most of the court case minus Calpurnia, Dolphus Raymond, and Mr. Link Deas presence in this storyline was the same. The fact that Tom’s arm was limp as well as the testimonies being relatively similar, greatly contributed to the movie’s realism to the book.
To conclude, the movie and book are similar and different, but are both interpretations of art. They both drew out the ugliness of the time and showed how it was executed. The book was well written and the movie well directed. The director already had an amazing subject to film about and was lucky to have such a phenomenal book to base it on. Harper Lee’s triumph will be celebrated for generations to come.
