The Gift of the Magi, by O. Henry. A story, about sacrificing what you love for someone you love. The first paragraph will be about the sacrifices that they have done for one another. The Second will about a creditable love between a Man and Woman, that cannot be separated. The third paragraph is thoughts. Mr. James and his wife Della Dillingham Young, have a love between each other. They can’t stop having thoughts for one another. Jim and Della were not wealthy, they didn’t have much. Living in a small apartment in New York Cited. Christmas was the next day and Della only had one dollar and eighty-seven cents to buy him a gift. She wanted to buy her husband a Christmas gift. Della had one thing that was the most important to
her, that was her hair. Della had to make a sacrifice. She was walking downtown where she stopped, the sign read: “Mme. Sofronie. Hair Goods of All Kinds ( O. Henry 204). Della went into the store, asked if she could sell her hair. She sold her hair for twenty dollars, with the twenty dollars, Della bought Jim a platinum fob chain.
