A bunch of the characters escape a death miraculously but they were all supposed to die. Death whoever or whatever it was wanted to kill each and every one of them to in a matter of speaking keep the records in order. He, She, or whatever death is does this in a horrific, sadistic, and dastardly way. This is one form of schadenfreude that cannot be seen as funny: unless it is a psychopath that is viewing it. However unfortunately there are people in this world that can find this funny. These people are not exactly the kind of people that one would want to be associated with. Each character dies in some weird way in which they would not normally die. Though in the end there are usually two insanely lucky characters still alive but only by getting someone else killed in their place. However if you search for any humor one or ever in this you don’t have to look any further than the absurd, extraordinary, and unusual ways of which the victims get killed one by one. This is revealed in studies done with chimps, and other primates. An experiment was conducted where humans tickled apes, and babies to see the resemblance between us and them. Through recordings taken by the researchers: they were able to trace laughter back to the common ancestor us and the great apes shared. The Great Apes also have the ability to laugh at the misfortunes of their neighbors: but not in the way we laugh. For them it is more like a huffing sound. The simpler base monkeys can only laugh when they are mad, or do what appears to be laughing. This was unfortunately noticed at a zoo when one of the chimps began showing bully-type of behavior when he threw rocks at people entering the zoo in the morning.
