Socialization: the process by which people learn the rules, expectations, & culture of the society.…
Animal Farm is the account of a fictional farm under the tyrannical ownership of Farmer Jones. The animals reach breaking point, and start a revolution against the tyranny of man. The revolution starts off to better the situation and the animals are happy with what they have. But over time, the pigs become most powerful animals on the farm. They turn the farm from a free democratic state into a communist state. The pigs then state that “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. As the book is actually a satirical commentary, it has a direct analogy to society. In Animal Farm’s case, it is the…
Socialization is the lifelong process by which people learn the ways of the society in which they live. The process by which humans acquire a sense of self or a social identity, develop their human capacities, learn culture, and learn about the expected behaviors.…
Before one looks at socialization as a concept and the effect it has on people, one must know what the word means. Socialization is defined as “the internalization of society’s values, beliefs, and norms” (Conley…
Language can control and manipulate situations in many ways. In the book "Animal Farm" situations are twisted and turned around with the use of language and propaganda, thus being done so by a pig named Squealer. Propaganda is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. Squealer can talk his way out of everything, but why he can do this is because of his outstanding use of clear and precise language.…

Both of these amazing stories were written by George Orwell about peer pressure. The animals on the farm that weren’t pigs and George Orwell were peer-pressured into something they didn’t want to do, but they had to do it or else it can result in pain they don’t want to experiences, could be either mentally, physically, or even verbally. It was whether killing an innocent elephant or doing something they didn’t want to do.…
Allison Davis talks about the socialization as a process by which an individual learns about new way of learning and interacting with the members of a group or a society. He learns to differentiate between the socially acceptable and not so acceptable behavior by positive and negative reinforcement.…
Socialization is “the process by which individuals internalize the values, beliefs and norms in a given society and learn to function as a members of the society” (Socialization Powerpoint). Some examples of socialization occurring in my life would be during my orientation into becoming a tutor as well as the tryouts I had to go through to become a member of the soccer team. In tutoring I had to learn how to mentor and assist students effectively, and for soccer I had to be a team player that could work and coordinate with other teammates. Both of these processes I had to be introduced to and taught in order to be an effective tutor and team…
Working Class Loyalty It shows in animal farm where the loyalty comes into play, the pigs are somewhat loyal to the other pigs in the beginning. The other animals are all loyal to the pigs and they get taken full advantage of. This is so terrible because they have built up their farm and then they are just dishonest and treat them the way they do. It doesn’t make sense to me how all the animals overtake Mr. Jones and then turn on each other.…
Power does corrupt because in chapter 3 there is a lot examples from the pigs that clearly show how power corrupts in many sorts of ways. One of the examples that shows how power corrupts in chapter 3 is when the pigs make the other animals do the work and they hardly did any work themselves to help out the current state that the farm was in. Therefore i believe that that should be one of my examples for why power corrupts. I also believe that this should be an example because it reminds me of how some police officers use their power for bad and it makes them corrupted.…

The novel “Animal Farm”, written by George Orwell, was written as a reference to the Russian Revolution during the Second World War. The main characters of the novel were two, Napoleon and Snowball. The animals in the farm were facing bad treatments from the owner of the farm, Mr Jones; therefore, the animals, led by Napoleon and Snowball, decided to raise a rebellion against Mr Jones and his workers. The rebellion succeeded, and the farm became owned by the animals. Throughout the novel, Napoleon and Snowball could never agree in anything. All of the sudden, one day Napoleon made a dirty move by convincing the animals in the farm that Snowball was a spy, and he was working with Mr Jones the whole time. This forced Snowball to escape from the farm leaving Napoleon the only leader in the farm. One of the most important themes…
The 4 agents of socialization are family, peers, mass media and education. By far for myself family is the important aspect of socialization. I have always been the type of person that goes out or stays home and spends time with my mom, dad, and brother. We are always doing things together even though I and 26 and my brother is 19. We go to church together and eat out together. I spend time with them even though I work and have a great girlfriend and a busy life. I am always being taught something from my family. I have been with them from Day 1 since I was born. I was completely dependent on them when I was little. I was taught to walk, to talk, to read and to write. They were the first people I came in contact…
Propaganda is a weapon used to deceive the minds of living things. Throughout the novella Animal Farm, George Orwell depicts how propaganda is used to assert dominance through the lives of animals. Napoleon is able to maintain control over the other animals only because of Squealers convincing propaganda. Squealer controls the others by creating fear, manipulating messages and justifying their actions.…
