People live their lives hoping each day to be better than the previous one. They make short and long term plans; they take loans, buy houses, expensive cars and other things that make their life more comfortable. In other words, people expect an improved life in future, and they are ready for that. However, residence in this world is unpredictable, and unfortunately we don’t have the ability to foresee what vicissitudes of fate have been prepared for us. For this reason we must be ready to survive in case of sudden variations of our life. One of good examples how life can change any second and how difficult it becomes to survive is given in David’s Mamet’s story “The Edge”. The main characters in “The Edge”, an intellectual billionaire named Charles Morse, and self-satisfied fashion photographer Robert Green, have been stranded in the wilderness after their plane crashes in the freezing Alaskan woods.
