Equipment
We used all the tools that were specified in the laboratory.
Procedure
Make sure the force table is balanced on the table.
Adjust all the ropes so that the weights will not touch the table. …show more content…
We incremented the weight slowly until the two weights were balanced.
We than placed the two other weights at the angled specified making sure the pulleys would be able to spin.
We started by pulling the rope in the opposite direction to find where the weight would equalize the angle.
We incremented the weights on the mass hanger by increments until the middle ring centered and all the masses were lifted off the table..
We repeated steps 6 and 7 with three weights instead of 2.
For the problem about moving a car by tying a rope to a tree to a car and adding a force perpendicular to the rope
We started by making a scale by representing the car as 200g and to move a the weight 1 micrometers.
We put a the biggest weight we had as the tree at 180 degrees and the car at 0 with a weight of 200g.
Next we put the pulley at 90 which is our perpendicular force.
As we put weight the perpendicular force we measured how far did the weight move using a ruler. Until it moves one 1 micrometer.
