The maximum amount of daily salt intake changes for different years :
•4 -6 years - 3g salt daily
•7 -10 years - 5g salt daily
•11+- 6g salt daily
These are only guidelines the amount of salt ideally should be lower as these are maximum intakes
You should not add salt to food to meet these because salt is bad for health as it increases blood pressure. Salt is in most processed you should always read the food label to check how much salt it in the product and if possible choose foods lower in salt.
