Explain The Seven Behaviors That Promote Learning
There are seven behaviors that promote learning. They are grit, curiosity, self-control, social intelligence, zest, optimism, & gratitude. The behavior that I consider most important for my learning is “Grit” which is hard work.
The word grit means hard work or perseverance. Curiosity means to have the desire to know and learn. Self-control is when you control your emotions, actions, and behaviors. Social intelligence is the ability to get along with other people or rest of your class mates. Zest is when you have enthusiasm or/and energy. Optimism is when you are successful. Gratitude is appreciation for others

As a preceptor, it is important to integrate the learning theories into practice, to develop student’s cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains based on Bloom’s taxonomy (Bloom, 1956). In this stage, different theories were involved, such as cognitive learning theory, behavioral learning theory and social learning theory. Cognitive learning theory focuses on the thought processes and learning is viewed as the acquisition of new information (Goldstein, Naglieri & Devries, 2011). The individual learns by listening, watching, touching, reading, or experiencing and then processing and memorizing the information (Schunk, 2010). However, behavioral learning theory learn though a continual process of stimulating and reinforcing a desired response, eventually the behavior is changed to match the desired response (Bower &Hilgard, 1981). Behavioral learning theory recognizes that learning has taken place by a change in behavior; it regards all behavior as a response to stimulus (Hand, 2006). Behavioral learning theory involves positive and negative reinforcement, which reflects in operant conditioning. Operant conditioning developed by Skinner, emphasized on using positive reinforcement to enhance good performance, or using negative reinforcement to eliminate bad behavior, which leads to achievement of learning…

Motivation is what plays a huge part in my learning process. I’ve been in a position all too many times where I’ve struggled immensely because my motivation was almost non-existent. This was mainly as a result of my lack of self-motivation. I overcome this by Identifying a way I like to learn best that made me feel at ease and able to get on with things. ‘’ The acronym VARK stands for Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinaesthetic sensory modalities that are used for learning information’’ I discovered I learnt best by Auditory. My reasons for this being is that I feel I excel when lectured and partake in group discussions and when using mobile phones, speaking, web-chat and talking things through. Another thing that plays a large part in my motivation is listening to music whilst doing independent studying.…

From a very young age I've always been intrigued by learning. Anytime I would be given a piece of work to do, even in kindergarten, I would always try to challenge myself; writing more then I was supposed to, having the neatest paper in the class, finishing ahead of time, or just creating more work for myself. Now, as I've gotten older, that interested hasn't gone away. Still to this day, I find myself doing extra problems in my math book in an attempt to learn more ways how to solve the problem, or writing an extra version of an essay to see which one had the better literary layout. I've always had a drive to succeed and learning just helped to fuel the fire.…
