As a leader there are many times you are faced with getting people to buy into what you are selling. To get people to buy into your vision, you must have a well-defined vision and believe in it with your entire being. I have found myself in many situations where I had to convince people that my vision could become reality and that through our efforts a difference could be made. While in high school, I was captain of my cheer team and I felt that this visible platform should be used for a greater good than just cheering on our team. My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer my junior year and I decided that I wanted to get people my age to become more conscious about health issues that plagued families. No one understands the struggle families go through unless they live it, or are exposed to situations that allow them to have a front row seat to the struggle. Anyone knows that getting ONE teenager to put down their phones, and become involved in a cause is not the easiest task. Now, imagine getting an entire student body or community involved.
