Q: why does the liquid turn from yellow to blue-green.

C: the liquid turns to a blue-green colour from yellow because the co2 is being absorbed from the from the water and oxygen is being released as a result of photosynthesis.

E: in the experiment, we exhaled into a solution of Bromothymol blue turning it yellow then a cap was placed overtop and it was allowed to sit next to a heat lamp which was being used as an aid in the reaction because of the lack of sunlight. After the two weeks had ended there was a clear difference in the colour in the plants left with a plant inside opposed to those without. the experimental group had changed to a blue-green colour and the control group had mostly stayed the safe with a few exceptions caused by

Bromothymol blue indicator changes color depending on the pH of a solution. The indicator would change from blue to green to yellow. Using this indicator, we were able to measure the rate of formation of HCl by measuring the time in which the indicator turned blue to green and the amount of NaOH needed to turn it from green to blue again. The time and volume would then be used to obtain the rate constants. Bromothymol blue is a weak acid so it can be protonated and deprotonated causing it to appear yellow and blue.…

In the second experiment we measured the rate of photosynthesis through different colored light filters, the results were for the most part as expected, but a bit off due to human error. The color with the highest rate of photosynthesis through the production of oxygen was the clear (control), next was red, then blue, and finally green. These results are somewhat the expected outcome for the different colors, although not exactly.…

Margaret Fuller's book Woman in the Nineteenth Century is written with the flowery, emotional language of the early Nineteenth century. It is often almost unbearable to read as Fuller attempts to use big words and backs up her ideas with the most outlandish citations. In all, one could probably get the same general idea after watching a bad re-run of Dawson's Creek portraying the teens' high school years, which seemed to center around Joey's struggle to define her own identity away from Dawson. It would certainly save agonizing hours of reading. However, all petty insults to the author aside for the moment, just the fact that the same general theme still comes up today that Fuller wrote about during her lifetime corroborates claims calling her "America's first true feminist" (page viii) And, while her writing argues for an improvement in women's status from what she saw during the early nineteenth century, it also reflects how the social constraints of the time had their effect on one particular woman.…
