What is the point of Middle School? The point of middle school is to find out who you want to be in life. As Avicii says “I can’t tell where the journey will end, but I know where to start.” In middle school you won’t know what you want to be, but you will start to figure out what kind of person you want to be. The journey through life starts in middle school and we are starting to figure out what and who we want to be.

In his song, Avicii talks about following his heart and not knowing the future. “Feel my way through the darkness, guided by a beating heart and I can’t tell where the journey will end but i know where to start.” These statements can be applied to your middle school journey in many ways. “Feeling my way through the darkness” can be applied to 6th grade and the new experiences at your new school. New teachers, schedules, friends, and grading system. You have the people close to you like friends and family helping you through this and this is how “guided by a beating heart” can be applied. The line can be seen a metaphor for friends and family since they are helping you through this
“They say I’m too young to understand, say I’m caught up in dream” this could show how adults still talk down to middle schoolers. They think we are still caught up in the magic of being a kid. However we are starting to mature mentally and we are learning new things. Middle School helps us learn to embrace life and Avicii’s song helps us do that too. “Life may pass me by if I don’t open up my eyes.” We need to start to learn how to appreciate life and think for others in life. Being in 8th grade sometimes you feel like you can do anything because you are the oldest of the school.
