Expos Five Reflection
Reflection on Expos Five Video According Stanford Universities informational page on Expository Writing, they define this course as a type of oral or written discourse that is used to explain, describe, give information or inform. So when it comes to the topic of Expository Writing, most of us would readily agree with the fact that it is a very challenging and laborious course. While some of us believe that this course is all about formal essay writing while informing and explaining a topic, others contradict with the fact that you are also able to write on comparison, problem and solution, and cause and effect topics. Both of these statements are accurate, but knowledge from both of these statements is needed to excel in this class. Subsequent to watching the video “Expos Five” I have learned about real life college students and their experiences and opinions when taking the Expository Writing course. First of all, while watching their semester long journey through this writing course, I learned a few pointers and lessons. Throughout this video I noticed that some of the students procrastinated on their papers. Arpan for example would go for strolls around campus, hang out with friends and even play video games when he should have been drafting or finalizing his papers. I learned from his mistakes and realized that procrastination is not an option. You need to use the time to fabricate ideas, outline, revise and finalize assignments to produce the best paper possible. Whenever Nneka was given an assignment, she would regularly develop and continue to revise drafts that would be examined by her professor. All that extra work paid off when she received a satisfactory grade due to the fact that she put in the effort. Secondly, I can honestly say that this video was a perfect and accurate representation of the struggles that come with this course. As it went on, I wanted to learn more about their situations and how they dealt with them. Throughout the

Over the past 2 -3 months Kelly has repeatedly been recognized by provider's during my face-to-face visits, they have described her as an exceptional advocate for our members and valued collaborator to our providers. One-on-one provider visits are primarily led by the providers to address the topics they feel would be most helpful for them, which almost always leads to requests for a specific guided training or claim resolutions; so it was especially rare and inspiring to have several of them voluntarily make it a point to identify and praise one of our UHC CBCM's. It was encouraging to hear their perspective on how dedicated Kelly is to her members, and how reliable they find her to be in working with them to address any obsticles they may…

My essay describes my one-draft writing process that has the advantage of minimal writing time, but also the disadvantage of procrastinating due to the short time needed to finish. Throughout my essay I argue that students often use excuses such as, "I work better and more creative under pressure," which leads to procrastination and unhealthy effects on the body. In my essay I provide ways in which students can avoid procrastination and improve their writing.…

At the beginning of the course we wrote a personal profile, where we introduced ourselves to our classmates and instructor, in it we included some things like the place where we were raised, important influences in our lives, and our dream job. As well, we introduced a topic that we would be interested in structuring and writing an argumentative paper about, I chose the Dakota access pipeline. It was a controversial topic throughout the world and it drew my interest to intellectually challenge the opposing side, along with several other popular debate topics. Unfortunately, I procrastinated throughout the entire course, because writing has never been my strongest suite. I did that because I over thought every single assignment because I was never certain if I was on the right track. Afterwards, we did a “Says Does Analysis” assignment, we had the opportunity to choose an article from the New York Times editorial. We had to determine what the author was trying to do and say, when writing his or her article. Doing this assignment, helped me evaluate my writing more in-depth, and expand upon what I was discussing.…

English-220 is an advance composition class which deals with the preparation in the techniques of exposition for operational writing. We are now at the middle of the semester, which has flown by pretty quickly; the purpose of the class is to improve our writing skills which we have acquired throughout our years of education. After entering this course I didn’t really comprehend the need of knowing the purpose of writing, effectively using the primary and secondary sources of information in academic sources, and knowing how to recognize and use the ethos, pathos and logos, which then were clear to me that they were are all part of the rhetorical triangle.…
